Many years ago, after the U.S. went into Iraq, the cute guy and I joined a peace march in San Francisco that began at Justin Herman Plaza and ended at City Hall. We finished on Van Ness for Thai food with friends. My favorite sign of the march was carried by a boy of three who swayed contentedly on his father's shoulders. His sign read, Don't Push.
I consider the child's message often and again as we enter the holiday season. Don't push.
