Grandpa's wooden sign hung on the oak at the top of the hill for thirty years. "What is kale?" I finally asked.
A gnarly quince tree
twisted around the brick wall.
Crows caw heading home.

Quince are such sexy fruit. Lovely image.
Christina - Thank you. I've been courting this quince tree for weeks and weeks now and yes, so sexy, but elusive too. There's an allure I've yet to capture in an image. But what fun trying!
What a beautiful photograph. I never knew what a quince looked like -- thank you.
Audrey - This is the first quince tree I've ever seen too. It's a beauty. I saw quince for sale last week at the market and they looked completely different however. They were yellow and reminded me of tiny mangos. Nothing like this variety. Also the new issue of Gourmet just came out with a photo of a quince on it's cover. A fabulous shot of course. So fabulous I bought the magazine which I rarely do and the entire issue is full of great shots. Such fun.
